1. Scope and Controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the Nibkin macOS application (“Nibkin” or the “App”) and the official static Nibkin website (the “Website”).
Nibkin is provided and operated by 苏州尔及信息科技有限公司 (Suzhou Erji Information Technology Co., Ltd.) This Policy does not apply to the App Store, macOS, or other third-party products and services provided by Apple or others, which process information under their own privacy policies.
2. Core Privacy Principles
Nibkin is designed around data minimization and on-device processing:
- No registration or account sign-in is required.
- There are no ads, behavioral analytics, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.
- The App does not connect to servers controlled by us or transmit App usage data to us.
- It does not read screen content, window content, file content, keystroke content, or the name of the current application.
- Sensitive features such as Clipboard Bubbles and Cursor Nudge start off and work only after you enable them.
Under Apple’s definition of “collection” for App Privacy disclosures, information processed only on the device and not transmitted for access by the developer or a third party is not data collected from the App by the developer. If a future version changes these practices, we will update this Policy and the App Store privacy information.
3. Information Processed Locally by the App
To let the character react naturally without interrupting you, Nibkin reads and processes the following limited information on your Mac. It is not sent to us.
| Information | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Time since the last system input | Determines active or idle state and selects idle, looking-around, walking, or resting motions | Uses only the current value; no input content or activity timeline is stored |
| Battery level, charging, and power-source status | Selects on-device character reactions when Battery Reactions are enabled | Current state is used in memory and not written to disk |
| Overall CPU load | Selects on-device character reactions when CPU Reactions are enabled | Current value is used in memory and not written to disk |
| Sleep, wake, display sleep, session, and desktop-space changes | Pauses or resumes character activity when the environment is unsuitable for an appearance | Responds to system events without creating a history |
| App preferences | Remembers choices such as motion, sound, frequency, character size and position, and optional-feature switches | Stored locally on the device using macOS UserDefaults |
Nibkin does not use these signals to identify the application you are using, infer the content of your work, or build a user profile.
4. Optional Features That Start Off
4.1 Clipboard Bubbles
This feature starts off. Only after you enable it does Nibkin detect new clipboard content appearing after activation. It works as follows:
- Only content readable as plain text is handled; images, files, and other clipboard types are not processed.
- After leading and trailing whitespace is removed, up to 40 Unicode grapheme clusters are kept for a brief bubble display.
- The bubble is shown for approximately three seconds by default. When dismissed, its containing view is removed. The text is not written to disk, logs, or the network.
- Nibkin does not modify, clear, or write back to your clipboard.
- Monitoring stops when you disable the feature or enter Office or Quiet mode.
On macOS versions that support clipboard-access controls, the system may display access notices or let you manage access behavior. You can turn off or restrict access in the App and in macOS System Settings.
4.2 Cursor Nudge
This feature starts off. Only after you enable it and grant the relevant system permission does Nibkin read the current cursor coordinates and move the pointer by a random distance of approximately 10–20 points within the current display bounds. The coordinates are used only to calculate that one movement. They are not stored, assembled into a trail, or uploaded. Denying or revoking permission does not affect the basic companion experience.
5. Website and Email
5.1 Website
This is a static Website. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, fingerprinting, user accounts, or online forms. We do not add code that sends Website activity to us. As with any website, your selected hosting provider, internet provider, or browser may process routine network information—such as IP address, request time, and browser information—to provide and secure their services. Those providers are responsible for such processing under their own policies.
5.2 Email You Choose to Send
If you email qiaoyang@szerji.com or services@szerji.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachment or other information you choose to provide. We use it only to respond to your inquiry, provide support, handle feedback, and maintain necessary communication records.
Please do not include unrelated passwords, payment information, identity documents, or other sensitive information in a support email.
6. Sharing, Sale, and Third Parties
We do not sell or rent personal information, use personal information for cross-app tracking, or share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
The Nibkin App does not integrate advertising or analytics SDKs that send user data to external services. The following third parties may independently process information when you choose to use the relevant channel:
- Apple: provides App Store distribution, purchase, download, and platform functionality. Apple handles related information under its Privacy Policy. We do not receive your Apple account or payment information from the Nibkin App.
- Email providers: when you send a support email, your and our email providers transmit and store the message.
- Website hosting and network providers: may process routine network logs to serve pages, maintain security, and prevent abuse. We do not add our own analytics or advertising tracking code to the Website.
We may disclose information you voluntarily send to us when required by law, necessary to protect users or public safety, or needed to establish or defend legal rights.
7. Retention, Deletion, and Uninstalling
- Current system states: used in memory only, with no historical record.
- Clipboard text: used for a brief display and released from its view and memory when the display ends or the feature stops; it is not written to disk.
- Cursor coordinates: used for one movement calculation and not retained.
- Local preferences: remain on your Mac until you reset them in the App, clear the relevant App data through the system, or uninstall. Because macOS backup and restore behavior is controlled by you and Apple, the exact result of uninstalling depends on the system.
- Support email: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address the request, meet legal obligations, maintain security, and resolve disputes, then deleted or anonymized.
Nibkin has no user account or server-side user profile, so there is no in-app account deletion process. To request access to or deletion of information you voluntarily provided by email, contact us using the addresses at the end of this Policy.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Individually disable Clipboard Bubbles, Cursor Nudge, Battery Reactions, CPU Reactions, Idle Reactions, sound, motion, and desktop appearances in Nibkin Settings.
- Use Office Mode or Quiet for 30 Minutes to temporarily stop desktop appearances, sound, and mischief.
- Manage or revoke relevant permissions in macOS System Settings.
- Reset local preferences or uninstall Nibkin.
- Where applicable law provides, ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you sent us by email, or withdraw the relevant consent.
We may take reasonable steps to verify the requester's identity and the scope of a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
9. Information Security
Nibkin reduces privacy risk through on-device processing, optional sensitive features that start off, and the absence of advertising and analytics SDKs. For information you voluntarily provide by email, we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature and risk of that information.
No device, electronic communication, or storage method can be guaranteed absolutely secure. You should protect your Mac login credentials, system permissions, and email account and keep security updates current.
10. Children
Nibkin is a general-audience product, is not directed specifically to children, and does not create accounts or intentionally collect children's personal information through the App. If you believe a child has sent us inappropriate personal information through support email, please contact us so that we can verify and address the matter as required by law.
11. International Users and Transfers
Nibkin App feature data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us by the App. If you contact us from outside mainland China, email and Website requests may be processed by communications, hosting, or network providers in other countries or regions. Data-protection rules may differ across jurisdictions; those providers are expected to process information under applicable law and their own policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the product, law, or our operations change. The revised Policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or the App's data practices, we will provide prominent notice through the App, Website, or another appropriate method where required by law.
